@jbaty interesting take, I've actually found the complete opposite of managing my own single user instance. My following a wide range of folks and leverage some relays that can bring in specific hashtags of my interests I find my Home feed is very rich with all of the people I care about connecting with as well as random #Fediverse folks that popup based on my interests. I also like that all of my content is my own for as long as I maintain my instance. Currently my instance costs me nothing.
