I feel so lucky. This is my office, and this is my view. Banff is a jewel of the Rockies. I'm on the side of Tunnel Mountain, thusly named because once upon a time, engineers considered putting a tunnel through it. That never happened, but the name stuck. Indigenous folks and allies are trying to get it renamed to Sleeping Buffalo Mountain because that's what it looks like, and it's far more fitting.

Landing strip marks left by either a Willow Grouse or a Rock Ptarmigan. These marks are quite common in Lapland. Willow Grouses typically inhabit lower areas with downy birches, while Rock Ptarmigans are usually found higher up in rocky areas. They are close relatives and can be easily confused, as can their tracks.

Picnic in the snow.

After a somewhat unrelenting, steep 800 meters going up (mostly feeling like it's already early summer), we got into the last snow (still >60cm deep) and had a brief picnic in the beautiful hidden cirque below Hohe Kisten ridge... the only sounds from the katabatic winds blowing and the noise of waterfalls nearby

Yesterday, we went to see the Beloi point of view fot the Vikos canyon.
We have to make a little hinkin under a thunderstorm hail. Totally worth it!

The Vikos Gorge or Vikos Canyon is in the Pindus Mountains of north-western Greece. It lies on the southern slopes of Mount Tymphe with a length of about 32 km, depth ranging from 120 to 1350 m, and a width ranging from 2500 m to only a few meters at its narrowest part.

Vikos is listed as the world's "deepest relative to its width" gorge by the Guinness Book of Record among others.

Le Mont Séti s'était mis en tête de décomposer la lumière. Il lui semblait bien qu'il manquait un truc, mais personne ne lui avait dit qu'un prisme noir ne laisserait pas passer grand chose.
