A herd of deer hanging out in our pasture this morning, under the cherry tree in the tall grass. It’s that time of year. We generally have a pregnant doe give birth in our shrubs every season. Unlike some of our neighbors, we make an effort to maintain wildlife corridors on our property. It’s okay to share one’s land with wild critters, they were here first after all. #RuralLife #CountryLife #Oregon #Wildlife

Ostrich on the Path

During our visit to the Gone Wild Safari near Alexandria, Louisiana, we came across an ostrich (Struthio camelus). I stopped the car to take a picture, and the ostrich began approaching, clearly hoping for some feed. Unfortunately, my cup of feed had already been stolen—thanks to the camel at the entrance. That camel was a real thug!
