Kolejny ruch producentów którzy przestali robić male telefony a teraz na siłę wciskają kolory a kontrast poprawiają ledami. Sam czytnik bardzo wygodny i przemyślany ale nie wiem czy go nie oddam. Brzydzę się Amazonem lubię Pocketbook ale chciałem wypróbować te legendarne Kobo. Trafiłem akurat na moment gdy producent postawił na kolor...
Który nawiasem mówiąc ledwo zauważam. Gdyby tylko jeszcze te stare cz-b Libra można by było dostać.
Oczywiście po włączeniu podświetlenia jest już ok ale to duża łycha dzięgdziu jak dla mnie. Jakieś 53.7% że mimo wszystko u mnie zostanie ale czuję duży absmak.

Roughly one year after I trashed my Kindle Paperwhite, I concluded that I do need an ebook reader. Two main reasons are traveling and reading in bed at night.

As I no longer want to give my money to Amazon, I found two alternatives:

- Kobo Clara BW from the Japanese company Rakuten.

- Tolino Shine 5 by the German Tolino-Allianz.

Their specs are almost identical, Kobo sells for 150 EUR, Tolino for 100 EUR.

Has anyone experience (good or bad) with any of these?

I'm having such a hard time articulating how I feel about this book. There was SO many good, solid parts about this story. The bare bones were excellent, and so was the writing. But it was also extremely disappointing for those same reasons - because it had so many wonderful things, I'm disappointed that I didn't love it more.

The whole storyline revolving around the aliens was extremely random, disjointed, and did not feel like it fit within the story about Katrina and Satomi. If they really wanted Satomi to have a relationship, Lan could've still been that as a human. Lan's family also provided a lot of plot convenience. It felt like the author had 50 ideas and messages she was trying to portray in under 400 pages, which left many of the side stories unfinished.

What I did really love was the family that Satomi, Katrina, and even Astrid found within each other. It was obvious that Katrina had been saved by Satomi, but it wasn't so obvious that Satomi had also been saved by Katrina. I also adored how the author uses music to explain things like gender, judgement, and life in general. The part that stuck out to me the most was when she explained how people live life in "sections", like sections of music, and when a section doesn't go how they expect it, things can go off the rails.

Please don't take the negative parts of my review as a reason not to read this book. While there are very realistic parts involving hateful things people say about trans people, and there are definitely parts I liked more than others, there is also trans joy and familial love and many good, amazing things to gain from reading this story.

For some time, I've been trying to avoid buying from #Amazon, and I recently discovered something that helps me with that.

If you buy an #eBook from #Kobo, then find it cheaper at Amazon or anywhere else, they'll refund the difference plus 10%.

Last week, I had occasion to test that out. I bought an eBook from Kobo for £4.99. Amazon had the same book for £2.99, so I submitted a price match ticket at kobo.com/gb/en/p/pricematch-ab

Ma tu ktoś Kobo Libra Colour? Strasznie mnie kusi ten czytnik zwłaszcza biały ale boję się tej kolorowej wersji bo w sumie to po co mi kolory. Tyle że do okładek. Brak Legimi chyba bym zniósł bo korzystał bym głównie z biblioteki ale mógłbym mieć czasami na wyjazdy albo jak tylko eBook dostępny.
Na Kindla jakoś nie mogę patrzeć :)

Thanks to a very lovely sweet friend, who jokingly said "Good news, my Nan died" (this was based on a conversation that we had about an episode of Downton Abbey, just FYI 😉), I was able to get the new Suzanne Collins book on my eReader!

Unfortunately, the account that I used when I set up the reader, was not the email that I use for the Bol Kobo store... So I had to logout and log in with the proper account.

It lost all my progress........ 😔 Which is a bummer........

But...

It did add the book to the reader. 😊 It's charging now, and then, I can start it soon!
