A photo composite /photo painting of an older couple driving in an old-time car on the open road with trees, blue sky and mountains in the composition. Norman Rockwell would take photos of many subjects before he started painting a composition. Sometimes I have an idea in my head that it is not possible to just take a photo of it. So, diving into many of my photos I can create the vision in my head. I wanted to capture the spirit of adventure but have an older couple enjoying the road trip. This was originally a photo taken of a couple touring Williams, AZ in an old classic car. I changed them to look old and went looking in my photo files to find a picture with a person with their hands thrown up in the air with glee. The hands up like a person on a rollercoaster ride was the key expression I wanted in this slice of life painting. The lady is expressing sheer joy at being out on an adventure. No matter what our age taking joy in the journey is part of the destination.
