My hot take for the day…
Bananas are truly awful
@andycarolan ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… wat
@andycarolan To be fair, (apart from its nutritional values) I don’t think many eat it for the delectable taste.
@habibcham So why do we eat them? Novelty value? lolol
@andycarolan Just like I ask myself why do I eat Apples? Ahem….I find them overrated, (apart from nutritional values).
@habibcham I guess there is a large percentage of foods that we all eat for nutritional value rather than taste/enjoyment
I like the pie form of Apple
@andycarolan Tonnes of food are like that. Hence why a lot of people can only eat them mixed/cooked with other ingredients rather than on their own.
But yeah, I see your overall point about bananas . I eat them a lot (potassium), but I don’t generally go “mmm that was darn tasty I want 5 more”.
@habibcham LMAO
*quickly eats 5 bananas out of a brown paper bag in the supermarket parking lot*
@andycarolan Follow that up with a vat of coffee and you’ll be annointed to the bathroom throne.
@andycarolan OMG! Now you’ve done it!
Why would you?
@maique Please don't wave that thing at me! ROFL
@andycarolan I admit I do not eat them on their own, but they are excellent in many other things, including banana bread, peanut butter banana toast (and with bacon [sorry]), and smoothies. I don't hate them. I think the modern banana is a bland being for many reasons: we mostly see a variety that can handle travel + sitting in a store and they tend to not be the most flavorful coupled with having a pretty nauseating texture at times.
@andycarolan So, what I'm saying is, it is human's fault not the banana.
@anniegreens LMAO “[It's the] human's fault, not the banana"
I'm SOOOOOO going to put that on a tshirt!
@anniegreens I've opened it in a tab, hit reader mode (because they aren't getting my email address lol), and I will read it after dinner :)
Teriyaki Bowl tonight
@anniegreens Interesting. I did know that the banana was derived from a herb, but not that they were actually a berry, not a fruit.
@anniegreens I don't mind them in banana bread form, or as part of a smoothie. But as a grab and go snack, I would rather chew a pine cone
@andycarolan Only when you eat them too early or don't pan fry them with sugar when its too late.
@indiealexh Hmm, pan fried with sugar you say
@andycarolan Indeed. overripe bannanas caramalize really well.
@andycarolan
Too hot for me: get ahht wi' ya.
Haha. The ratio on this. I boosted it because I thought it was funny to have beef with bananas (I was originally going to respond THEY ARE LITERALLY THE WORST THING EVER TO HAPPEN TO HUMANKIND). I personally don't mind them but I used to work with a woman who was physically terrified of them.
@TheBreadmonkey IKR! There's some strong feels about s
It's not the first time I've heard of someone terrified of Bananas
