Ok today I learned that you can filter subscribed languages from individual persons you follow. If you go to the profile of the account on the mastodon website you can open the three dots menu and disable the languages you don’t understand

It’s cumbersome but it works if you have just a few persons you follow that post in languages you don’t understand.
