Finally started building that nice keyboard which was laying around for waaaay too long now.
The soldering of the controller part went well for the most part, but the computer crashed during the first test.
On the Mac behind a docking station, I only get an error message saying that the USB device is consuming too much power.
So there is obviously a short circuit somewhere. As far as I can see on the USB-C port. With its 16 ... https://www.byzero.de/2024/02/06/finally-started-building.html
Thanks to @sarajw and a lot of flux I was able to get rid of that short and it now gets discovered properly.
I feel content to show some progress here.
It looks way better from the top.
Next: the diodes. That they are so present is what I liked most about this keyboard.
Good thing it’s way easier to solder them than the controller was.

@muhh Enjoy! For me, I found that I can live with a lot of things but not without the arrow keys :)

But since the arrow keys are always the cleanest ones after some times, I'm quite sure I'm going to be ok

@jnbhlr eins nach dem anderen. Ich hatte schonmal ortholinear auf dem Tisch - https://www.byzero.de/2020/02/25/hurdle-mbfeb-its.html - aber das war so erfolglos, dass ich erstmal aufgab.
Das Teil jetzt ist aber der nächste Schritt zu einem ergonomischen Layout. Aber erst muss ich ein paar andere Synapsen umbiegen.
Außerdem fand ich's sooo hübsch. Und ja, ich hatte sehr viel Spaß beim bauen. Waren ja auch dann doch nur ein paaar Stunden.
@muhh na dann :-) für den Sprung auf neo2 würde ich so 40h einplanen, ortholinear war für mich gefühlt kein Sprung, die gewöhnung verlief sanft. Und geteilt war ich auch schon gewöhnt, nur nicht komplett unabhängig... gut für dich das du dich nicht von einer schlechten Erfahrung hast abschrecken lassen!

Schau ich mir mal genau an, allerdings schreib ich kaum noch deutsch. Und die Buchstabenvertauschung steht auch noch weiter hinten an.
Aber wer weiss, was ich demnächst alles dazulerne.
@muhh jo quasi colemak/dvorak, verschiedene ideen zur ergonomischen Optimierung. Auch wenn es für deutsch optimiert ist macht es glaube ich auch für englisch mehr sinn als qwerty. Zum coden auch fein.
