@bw TIL! Especially with OS 9 and before I remember mostly using that OSK for word processing stuff for characters (my mom used to do desktop publishing from home during the late 80s/early 90s on an Apple/Mac).
@bw I think I might have been in the last class that went through my junior high that took an actual learn-to-type-on-a-typewriter class. When I think about that, it makes me feel like I must be really old, but I don't think I am, I just think that was an antiquated school system at the time.
@anniegreens I had one of those too! I’m in Mississippi so it was definitely an antiquated school.
@anniegreens@social.lol@bw haha well I was in Washington, my dad was a teacher in the same school district, he was the first teacher to have a computer in his classroom that he wrote little programs for keeping student records and they could use it to look up their grades
@bw of course, none of that would be sanctioned now
