I have effectively stopped going on social media and it means I miss the excellent posts from lovely web folks, I think I need to sort and filter through my feeds so it’s less constantly anxiety-inducing
@keith nailed it:
“Take a deep breath, and say out loud: I am not a machine, I am not meant to scale. You have a finite amount of energy, and a community of people around you who can use that energy. You can use that energy, to make it through the day, which is the most important thing. Waking up tomorrow is the name of the game.”
Thank goodness for RSS feeds that I can selectively consume when I have the brain cells!
@sophie everything happens so much at the moment.
@flori it does doesn’t it
@sophie I feel bad for disengaging from social media / the news. But I would like to keep my sanity.
@sophie 100% understand this rn.
@sophie Ironically, I flipped my filtering from having art/3D/web design/photography lists and politics in the main feed, to having a politics list (hidden from main feed) and the arty/web stuff in the main feed. Which, duh, why didn't I do this sooner?
Then the new US administration started its shit and it didn't matter any more — almost every post in my feed was political.
@sophie Yeah, same. I’m going to build a list of blogs written by “people” that I don’t want to miss out on in Tapestry. Then move away from this constant doomscrolling.
