Just saw a #TDOV post that used "AI art" to depict a fantasy bigender person. I've also seen a lot of posts by non-trans people that center the poster instead of trans people.
You know what helps me feel welcomed and supported when I'm visible? Not so much the vague "I see you!" statements, and not fantasy or stock trans people, but people posting in support of specific trans people in their lives who have chosen to be visible.

octo got nothing on #TransDayOfVisibility but a report on her first mutual aid post she managed to make in an entire month. it's clear how badly people would rather her dead. octo is in debt from not meeting the last 3 months goals. she can't afford to eat & is battling suicidal ideation. she wants to live & escape abuse. there's nothing wrong with needing support in a society that murders people like her. please give her the flowers she deserves.

Last year during #TDOV , we (en.osm.town mods) had to suspend various accounts and some whole domains because of transphobia.
I jokingly said that I'm looking forward to tdov this year because the transphobes will come out of the woodwork again, easily spottable and bannable.... But this year we got no reports of transphobia during tdov.... Either people aren't reporting on our instance or ... we did actually ban most of the transphobes already? either way

Fuck the cis perspective and be you. Have fun with your presentation. Be bold, be loud, remind the nazis they can do everything but silence us.
Sobbing happy tears this evening, in the wake of seeing all my fellow trans folks showing up as their beautiful selves, seeing so many cis allies speaking up today, having driven past multiple pro-trans signs on the way to the airport earlier, and having just wrapped up an evening of interviews of @petalumapride.org board candidates.
We are beautiful and I am full of hope for our collective future
