@kev Casio DW-5600UE Breaking out the Sunday Best for today's watch with the only G-Shock from my humble collection. The "gravitational shock" protection is wasted on me seeing as I'm unlikely to be busting rocks in the hot sun with a jackhammer or saving passengers from Dennis Hopper on an LA bus. Blew a gift card on it & not sorry.

The backlight on G-Shocks proves that Casio can make good LED lighting that rivals the famed Electroluminescence.

@kev Casio AE-1200 (aka the "Casio Royale". I made the mistake of starting my Saturday wearing the Pixel Watch 2. Should've gone with my 1st instinct which was this model. It's an attention-getter. Yes, there's entirely too much going on here. But the time is still easy to read at a glance. From its nickname to the world time zones, this watch is a conversation piece.

And it's a full suite of features without the need to mod the PCB.

@kev Casio W-201 This one was salvaged off the Travis Walk sidewalk some 20 years ago. That is how humbly a Casio run can begin.

Aside from the plastic pushers that are seated too close to the wrist, this watch encapsulates the Japanese principle of "shibui". In Texas it's called "nuthin' fancy" but it gets the job done. Still on the same battery when found.

Has its own theme music on account of its origin story in my humble collection.

@kev Casio W-217H with the hourly chime signal activated.

I really appreciate that chime which is infuriatingly not available on Wear OS Android watches.

Also the buttons are very responsive and easy to activate. This plus-size update on the classic Casio F-91W gets everything right: all the simplicity and elegance but much easier for my Gen X eyes to read. Bonus: the back light is MUCH brighter too.

I didn't mention it in the #blost, but N*O*D*E on YT even modded a #Casio watch to hold an SDMicro card. He just took an SD Micro reader component like you'd see on a raspberry Pi and soldered it to the back of the watch.
